Denver native. I learned to swim in the fountains on 17th and California. My family history includes the 50's uranium rush, and I remember living in Elizabeth when the town had 600 people and no paved roads. (The last ranch is now a Wal-Mart.) In grade school we moved to the Four Corners. My deepest roots are here.

I like to head for weights in the gym in the evenings. Even better is a good, long hike, and any climbs above 12 & 13,000'. Desert canyons, the smell of broken talus - that's heaven.

I grew up in the open country, and sometimes that gives me a different perspective on things. For example, I think it is normal to turn on the well and fill a cistern, or to hear gunshots in the distance. I spend a lot of time thinking about land use and natural resources. I also believe that torn blue jeans are far more respectable than a suit and tie.

There is a soft spot in my heart for the High Plains and parts of old Denver.

Sometimes I think that people who want to be "in love" or who "fall out of love" do not know what it means -to love-

I am fortunate to have built some truly unconditional friendships. Those bonds do not form quickly or easily, but they are fierce and permanent. Because of these few people, I know that I am not expecting too much from relationships.
