Roger Federer and Andy Roddick sign autographs for fans on their day off before tomorrow's semifinals (Fed vs. Tommy Haas, Andy vs. the Other Andy). After my diatribe against the women I didn't even bother watching the women's semifinals earlier. (Oops, it sounds like I was HALF right. There's always the highlights show tonight!)
There were 1000 souls waiting to enter the underworld, and all had paid the Fare.
Charon came with his boat of steel and took them along the cold rails of the river Styx into eternal darkness. It was dead quiet. Nobody said a single word. Not even "Good Morning".
Anyone who saw an Ingmar Bergman movie or took the subway in Stockholm knows we are just not that talkative.
On the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in New York City, homophobic cops are still harassing and beating innocent gay people for no reason. In the age of Obama, police are still allowed to storm gay bars and send patrons to intensive care with no repercussions.

Man, this is so crazy! Ok, here we go...so this week, the top selling album overall is Michael Jackson's 'Number Ones' (pictured above) with 108,000 copies sold. Here's how it all goes down:
I don't remember '70s tennis player Dick Stockton being all that much to look at, but a quick gaze in my rear-view mirror tells me I may have overlooked something: That ass! Those legs! And he was born with a name that most porn stars could only dream of coming up with ...
Former Destiny's Child LeToya Luckett was on KIIS 102.7 with DJ Skee talkin' up her new album 'Lady Love' and stuff. She talks about seeing Beyonce for the the first time in years the other night at the BET Awards:
Mariah shot the vid for her new smash 'Obsessed' last week in NYC. Here's some behind the scenes footage...and yes, if you didn't already know, that's her dressed as a man (reportedly dissin' Eminem):
I keep hearing all this buzz about R&B crooner Drake, but I had never heard any of his stuff. Well, he just released the vid for his new track 'Best I Ever Had.' I suppose someone likes him, cuz the track is currently perched for the second week in a row at no. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
To be honest, I'm not really feeling it. There have been rumors he's involved with Rihanna, so if Rihanna likes him, I can handle it lol. Plus he is F-I-N-E. Anyway, vid was directed by Kanye West, see what you think:
Have you checked out "Sounds Like a Hit!," the bi-coastal vlogger chatfest over on Logo and AfterElton.com? On each episode, L.A.-based Brian Hedden and New York-based Kyle Barisich "duke it out ... over the latest and greatest in pop culture" and although I just found out about recently, I have to say it's quite entertaining. See for yourself HERE.
Remember the Sears Tower Ledge? The glass box that juts out of the 103rd story of the Sears Tower, offering unobstructed views all the way to the street?
Well, it’s open:
In two words: HOLY SHIT.

Collaboration cannot happen without proper, effective communication, as it is the free exchange of ideas that fuels the fire of cooperation. When we find ourselves in the presence of likeminded individuals whose goals are similar to our own, the thoughts and feelings we share excite us intellectually and awaken our enthusiasm for the task at hand. We want to spend time with such people, no matter what we are doing, because the ideas they put before us inspire us to be as innovative and imaginative as possible. Even if we are unsure as to how best to proceed, our partners will likely have a clear notion of the path ahead or they will be able to help us distill the product of our brainstorms into workable plans of action.
They say if you want something done right then you should do it yourself. So having spent considerable time and money, along with my pal Greg Jelinek, in "issuing" my own version of various albums that were never released on compact disc, I tend to be as leery as I am excited when records labels surprise me every so often and actually get around to putting some of these overlooked gems out themselves. Still, when word leaked out that a two-disc reissue of the Tom Tom Club's infectious debut album was in the works, complete with bonus disc of the band's hitherto unreleased-on-CD second record, "Close to the Bone, I was overjoyed. (Not to be a buzz kill -- I know it was part of a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Island Records -- but what IDIOT thought of releasing this album on CD in 2009 -- now that NO ONE buys CDs? Why wasn't this out between 1990 and 2000 when they were flying off the shelves and fans were KILLING for it??? But I digress ...)
Honestly, I never cared for the archaic Section 377 (created in 1861 by the British) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The section essentially says that "carnal intercourse against the order of nature" (male homosexuality) is a criminal offense which can be punished with up to 10 years in prison and a fine. Though rarely enforced, this law has been used to harass and torture homosexuals.
Today, the Delhi High Court delivered its verdict in a Public Interest Litigation against the Section 377 after almost 8 years since the NAZ Foundation filed the case- consensual sex between people of the same sex is no longer a criminal offence!!! The Government of India (who had indicated last week that they were considering a relook into the Section 377 which may even lead to a repeal) has said that there is no plans to contest the judgement as of now. This means that in all probability, the Government of India is going to repeal Section 377! A repeal will also mean changes in civil laws pertaining to inheritance, property and adoption!
