Help with Messages

How can I delete messages in my message archive?
All messages will be deleted automatically after 180 days. After 120 days, they will be moved out of your InBox but will still be available in the person's message archive. However, if you would like to delete the messages in the archive you have with a particular person, you'll find a link to do so in the archive for that person.

I have new messages, but they aren't showing up when I go to the Messages section. What's up with that?
The problem may be that your browser is caching old data. Go to the Message section and hit Refresh. If the new messages show up, it's definitely a caching issue. Just follow the steps below to correct the problem.

Every browser version is somewhat different, but on IE 6 here's what you do:

1. In the Tools menu, select Internet Options.
2. In the General tab, there's a button in the "Temporary Internet Files" section called "Settings...". Press it.
3. In the window that is opened, there's a section entitled "Check for newer versions of stored pages:"
4. Mine is set to "Automatically", though you might set it to "Every visit to the page" if that's how it's set now. If it's set to "Every time you start Internet Explorer" or "Never", then it's definitely wrong.
5. Click OK.
6. You can clear the cache at this point if you like by clicking on "Delete Files..." and clicking on OK when it asks you to confirm.
7. Then, of course, click "OK" to close the Internet Options dialog and save the changes.

If this is done right, you should only need to do it once.

I tried doing that Refresh thingy but the messages are still missing. Were you lying to me?
No, but sometimes the messages are actually gone. The most common reasons for this are that the person has unsent the messag, they have deleted their account on Connexion or we have deleted their account if they were a fake or scammer.

It still says I have unread messages, but I can't see them anywhere.
There are two things to check.

1. Make sure Messages are sorted by the Sent date...meaning Sent should have a next to it, and the newest messages/unread messages will be first.
2. Make sure Show Unread Only is not checked. The checkbox is just under the In Box/Sent/Deleted/Spam and to the right "ShowUnread Only"

Why isn't there a "Send Message" link in my profile? Does that mean I can't send messages?
No, That just means that you can't send a message to yourself. If your email address is properly verified, you should be able to send messages to other people.
