What is certification and why should I get certified?
Certification is a way of
proving to people that you're not a fake. Basically you provide us with a photo of
yourself that shows you holding a sign with your member id on it. Once we accept it,
your profile is marked so that other members can see your certification photo and
know you're for real.
When you become certified, additional features are available to you, specifically:
- Chat - Get a miniature picture icon of you in the member list when you're in a chat room.
- More Photos - Ability to post 18 photos rather than 9.
- Photo Albums - Create photo albums of up to 1,000 photos to share with your friends or everyone on the site.
- Member Profiles - Add a private note to any member profile.
- Birthday Alarms - Ask Connexion to give you advanced warning about your friend's birthdays.
- Personal Appointment Calendar - Add your appointments to the Connexion event calendar. We will
even notify you by email or text message message to your mobile phone when it's time for your appointment.
- Queer & Questioning - Get the ability to post questions in Queer & Questioning.
- Quick Polls - Add a simple one question poll to your profile.
- Blogs - Add a feed from your blog to your profile.
- Custom Profile - Customize your profile including adding multiple profile pages.
- Trips - Add information about your upcoming trips to your profile!
- Imposters - Easier to get pictures removed from someone else that has stolen your photos.
- And more to come. Most of the new features we're adding to Connexion will only be available
to certified members.
How much does it cost?
Like everything else on Connexion, it's free.
What kind of photo do I need to get certified?
You'll need a clear frontal face shot holding a hand written sign with
your member id
on it.
Please don't wear a hat, sunglasses or anything that obscures your face.
The image must be at least 300 pixels wide. We'll review the
photo and if it matches the other pics in your profile, we'll mark you as a certified member.
